FedEx LEED Assessment Performed

REthink was hired to review the operations of a Fed Ex distribution facility to determine the feasibility of achieving a LEED for Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance (EBOM) certification. REthink calculated the Energy Star score, analyzed the operational efficiencies, inspected the physical infrastructure, and reviewed maintenance practices and policies for the facility. We provided an analysis of the facility’s current likely LEED EBOM score and made recommendations for low cost and high ROI measures to improve their score, enhance the indoor working environment, and reduce the facility’s environmental footprint.

On the cover of the Sunday LA Times Business Section, Jonathan Watts of the Cuningham Group talks about making it through these rough real estate times with creative strategies. The creative strategy he speaks about is partnering with REthink Development to build a LEED Platinum office building named “The Plant” and owning/occupying 20% of it. The remaining 80% of it will be sold as green office condos to other groups involved with the project and 3rd parties.

Cherokee Wins LABC 40th Architectual Award

The Lofts at Cherokee Studios by REthink Development has recently captured the prestigious 40th Annual Los Angeles Architectural Award–Market Rate Multifamily category.

The Los Angeles Architectural Award and subsequent recognition is quite an accomplishment for the project considering the only other non-governmental winners included some of largest and most innovative real estate companies and projects; including AEG for their LA Live project and Majestic Realty for their Los Angeles NFL Stadium concept.
