Prefab Mixed-use - Atwater Village

REthink developed and sold LivingHomes Atwater a boutique mixed-use project in the hip Atwater Village neighborhood. Utilizing prefabricated modular construction, Los Angeles’s Small Lot Subdivision ordinance, and strong green building techniques REthink’s goal was to begin to figure out a better way to build housing in in-fill markets of California. The market rate single family modern homes were 3-story, 3 bedrooms, 3 baths consisting of 1850 internal square feet. The homes featured extensive glass throughout creating abundant natural light and natural ventilation. The homes included two decks with mountain views and private yards. The homes were designed to LEED Platinum certified level environmental program with Cradle to Cradle inspired products. The project also included a 1400 sf retail space with 20’ high ceilings, expansive glass, and a modern aesthetic fronting the main retail strip of Atwater Village. The walk score for the project was a high 88 with some of the best boutique shops, restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops in LA steps away.
